Cascading Failure Update 3

Crossroads Map Release

In this update we are releasing a new map called Crossroads. Playable for all current game modes, this map explores more close combat situations with very few long-range sight lines. Being ambushed from the top of tall buildings can be a common occurrence in Crossroads.

With the new map release, we have also made some other large changes surrounding economic management. Mining drones have been removed and instead you will now be required to build a Mining Base on a Resource nodes. These bases can be upgraded to have a Turret Module or an Advanced Mining Module depending on your preference. This change was mainly to address the inconsistent income challenges where mining drones could be unreliable source of income, you could either get a very good run or a very poor run, meaning that the random aspect of the drones could be quite frustrating. This will mean that securing mining locations will now be a lot more important in Both game modes.

We have also added a new Resource requirement called Power. Some structures such as Turrets will now require power. Building Power Generator Modules on Modular Bases will generate power for your structures. Loosing power or going into negative will deactivate all structures which require power until this is remediated.

The new Mech Bay is released so you will no longer have to worry about the exact rotation and placement of the Mech Bay as it is not the size of a sky scraper. Mech Bays require power to operate.
The Armoury is a new structure which allows you to produce on field upgrades for your units and structures. The Armoury is a technology requirement for being able to build more advanced Mechs and Walkers. Choosing a technology path is now more critical, especially in tight resource scenarios.

More specific changes are listed in the patch notes below. Crossroads is quite different to other maps and should lead to some very unique matches, along with the Resource changes, will require a lot of new and different strategies across all maps.

We hope you continue to support us in the development of Cascading Failure and look forward to playing some games with you all.
