Cascading Failure Update 2

Our second update is now available. We have done some fixes and adjustments based on feedback as well as our general experience playing with you all. We have had some good group co-op sessions with those who are active on discord so do not hesitate to hit up the LFG tag in discord if after some Co-op games.

We have been working hard on the new map, which will make for some very close quarter combat situations where positioning will be key. We may not push out an update (patch) next week unless there are some pressing fixes that need to be addressed but we will put out a general information update regardless.

We hope you continue to enjoy Cascading Failure and if you would like to play some games with us feel free to join the discord. We play regular matches with the community, especially on weekends.

New:

  • Added ability to call in a engineer if no engineers or bases are available. Can only be called in if resources are available. Has cooldown.

  • DropPods now have a incoming and a landing sound effect. DropPods landing also has a visual effect. This should help with hearing incoming enemy forces.


Fixes:

  • Infantry AI will now jump over blocking terrain / vault such as shield walls and turrets. They will no longer re-path and be blocked.

  • Mechs will now path correctly to objectives.

  • Fixed spectator mode bug which could cause the game to crash if spectating a dead unit.

  • On opening of join game menu, the lobby will auto refresh to remove old games.

  • After a re-join units that die will now properly remove themselves from the control group bar.

  • Adjustments to menu buttons.

  • Host fixes on some physics components which could cause a crash if lots of physics objects were interacting.

  • Fixed a misleading bullet tracer on Walker Cannons.


Adjustments:

  • Added ramp in settlement to Central Landing area. Will allow mechanical units to get up.

  • Drones must now deal more damage to take out slow moving projectiles. They will no longer require a single hit.

  • Removed Outskirts defense location from glacier.

  • Assault AI now have another strategy mode called Excessive Attack where more of their troops will focus on attacking.

  • Assault AI will now build anti air turrets.

  • If Assault AI is playing as CC they are now allowed to construct Rangers.

  • Grenadier HP Buff from 300 -> 500

  • Reduced costs of Heavy Infantry to match Mech Bay Units

  • All Mechs have had a small hp buff. From 1500 -> 1800

  • Rangers Armoured hp buff from 1000 -> 1250
